Great Find!

Acting Networks

Hiya,

I’ve got to tell you about this really cool site I have found today. It’s a brand new twist on a an age old concept in web site advertising and the best part, it’s absolutely free!

http://sweeva.com/ref/actingnetworks

It’s called Sweeva and I’ve already seen some amazing results from it. It’s not like anything you have ever experienced before but what is so cool is that it’s very easy to set up and get working for your web site. It took me about 5 minutes to sign up and get started….

Be sure to check it out and experience what Sweeva calls ‘social browsing’. You surf with hundreds of other members, you get to rate sites as they appear and you can network with like minded individuals.

Ooops, I almost forgot you get rewarded from rating sites, viewing sites and commenting on sites. This is the easiest way to promote…

Project Name: When Life Gives You Lemons (shooting in London)
Project Type: Student Project
Rate/Compensation: Expenses Only

Role Role Type Gender/Age/Ethnicities Casting Locations Description/Note
Johno’s Mum Co-Star Female / 45 to 55 / Caucasian

Johno’s mum is a naturally overbearing worrying mum. Since her husband left, she is desperately attempting to be positive for Johno by attempting to help him move forward, but through this she is trapping him. She uses chliched quotes and success stories to aid her in dealing with being on her own. She wants the best for her son, and she believes that if he fails, she fails as a mother. She Wants him to move on, but also in a way she wants someone to talk to, because she has fallen into a routine that will be broken when she has to make it on her own. Johno’s mum is lonely, so she busies herself with the making her living space pristine, and colourful. She takes pride in her decorating abilities, and takes the initiative to go out and take part in book clubs and charity events when she is not working in Laura Ashley. She uses her events to fill her time as much as possible, the ultimate distraction from being alone, and when Johno is ignoring her. She wants to make the best out of every situation, but lately, she is struggling to get back on her feet again after the divorce.

Johno Lead Male / 18 to 25 / Caucasian

Johno is a typical 20 something dead beat drop out. He peaked in high school by captaining his football team, but his life took a downwards turn from there. After dropping out of uni because he just wasn’t interested, he feels he is a failure and uses it as an excuse for not trying. He is reserved and closed off, giving the impression that he doesn’t really care. He does have ambitions, but he doesn’t believe in himself enough to take that extra step. He loves his mum but he resents her as he believes she is stopping him from moving on with his life. Even though, it is really only his own motivation. .Johno is so locked into himself sometimes that he appears comatose. Drifting through life, not acknowledging anything or anyone that could break him from his safe little world. His dad is absent, and he doesn’t have anyone to look up to. What Johno really needs is to push himself, and get over this rut he is stuck in all by himself. It is the only way he can take control of his own destiny.

Project Name: Broke (shooting in London)
Project Type: Student Project
Rate/Compensation: Expenses only

Role Role Type Gender/Age/Ethnicities Casting Locations
Stacie Principal Female / 18 to 22 / Caucasian London

Description/Note
Stacie is a severely depressed teenager who has ran away from home. She is very introverted and self conscious, she takes things to heart and overthinks. She is second guessing herself about leaving home and believes that her life can’t get better, though she wishes it would. What she wants more than anything in the world is to be loved, by her family and her friends. She is educated, but she has dropped out of college after an extremely dark patch in her life and feels she has now missed her chance. She is beyond lonely and feels that everyone would be better off if she ended her life.

Girl Principal Female / 18 to 22 / Caucasian London

Description/Note
The girl has an aggressive persona, she most definitely more dominant and confident. I see her a lot as Faith from Buffy. She uses insults casually and doesn’t feel bad. She has no conscience and being nasty brings her joy. She is not afraid of confrontation. She is a manifestation of Stacie’s depression.

The Daily Dahlia

It’s been almost a full year now since I signed with my agent, but the thing about querying is, if you did it for long enough, I’m not sure you ever forget what it was like.

Me? I did it on and off for four years.

I got something like ten rejections on my first ms before I stopped (not that I’d normally advise giving up after that low a number, it’s just that it was far more of a “market timing” thing – NA! – than anything else), fifty before shelving the second one (what, until my most recent ms, was “the book of my heart”), and then was very lucky to find my agent through The Writer’s Voice contest with my third, for which I only sent about five queries.

That adds up to a whole lotta two things: 1) Research 2) Rejections

When I queried the first…

Dont Trust One Source Talent

Being Conned Out Of Big Bucks is no joke, and over in the UK, many would be Companies are literally dragging the Money out of the Pockets of Unsuspecting Actors and Actresses Up and Coming in the Entertainment Industry, and this issue will be address in a big way in the near future as Lovestaxs Entertainment and many other Companies in this field are working towards stamping out this sculldugery!

Don’t Trust One Source Talent

I am sorry to say I am one of the gullible people who got tricked into joining. I already had professional head shots but they told me they were not good enough and I needed to get better ones, of course for a small fee of 800 bucks plus the 49.99 it cost to start. I was a bit skeptical but looking at their website and the offices around the U.S made it look believable. They said they would send me good gigs that I can try for and that there data base was filled with different types of acting opportunities to choose from. Lets just say this was a  fallacy the only type of jobs they sent me was to be an audience extra which was unpaid I might add. The only gigs they had available was musicals and I told them when I…
